A Retirement Strategy Designed for Greater Certainty
Principal Protection Features and Potential for Interest Crediting
Fixed indexed annuities are insurance products that may help individuals protect their contract value from losses directly caused by negative index performance while providing an opportunity to earn interest based in part on the performance of a market index. Interest crediting is subject to the specific contract’s terms, including participation rates, caps, spreads, and other limitations. These products do not directly invest in the stock market, and interest is not guaranteed to be credited in every period.
Depending on the contract, a fixed indexed annuity may offer options for guaranteed lifetime income, beneficiary benefits, and certain long-term-care-related or extended-care benefits through applicable riders or contractual provisions. Availability, eligibility, costs, limitations, and benefit conditions vary by product.
These products are not right for everyone. We help you understand how a fixed indexed annuity may or may not fit into a broader retirement income strategy based on your situation.
Turn Retirement Savings Into an Income Strategy
Explore Options for Predictable Income
For many retirees, one of the biggest questions is how to make their savings last. Certain annuity contracts offer options to receive guaranteed income payments for a specified period or for life, subject to the contract’s terms and the claims-paying ability of the issuing insurance company. Walworth Capital helps clients understand available income options, payout structures, trade-offs, and how an annuity may complement other retirement resources, including Social Security and employer-sponsored retirement benefits.
Lifetime income options differ by contract. Withdrawals, surrender charges, rider fees, and other provisions can affect available values and benefits.

Contractually Guaranteed Interest for a Defined Period
A multi-year guaranteed annuity, or MYGA, is a type of fixed annuity that offers a contractually specified interest rate for a stated period. Depending on the contract, it may be an option for individuals who want a predictable interest rate without direct exposure to stock market performance.
MYGAs may be worth exploring for people evaluating how to position a portion of eligible retirement savings, including certain IRA assets or eligible retirement-plan distributions. A MYGA does not eliminate every financial risk, and guarantees are subject to the financial strength and claims-paying ability of the issuing insurance company. Early withdrawals may be subject to surrender charges, tax consequences, and other restrictions. Qualified retirement accounts do not receive additional tax deferral solely from being invested in an annuity.
Make Your Retirement Resources Work Together
Explore Your Options Before Making a Decision
Retirement savings can come from a variety of sources, including traditional and Roth IRAs, employer-sponsored plans, and certain 403(b) accounts. Depending on the account, employer plan rules, tax considerations, and individual circumstances, an annuity may be one option to consider when evaluating how to protect savings or structure future retirement income.
Before moving funds from a 403(b), IRA, or another retirement account, individuals should review distribution rules, tax implications, investment alternatives, fees, surrender provisions, and any benefits that could be lost by transferring assets. Not every account or retirement situation is suitable for an annuity.

Plan With the Next Generation in Mind
Consider How Your Retirement Decisions Affect Your Legacy
Retirement planning can include preparing for loved ones, reviewing beneficiary designations, and understanding how an annuity’s death-benefit provisions work. Some contracts provide a death benefit to designated beneficiaries, subject to contract terms and applicable law. The amount and timing of any benefit depend on the specific product and circumstances.
Certain annuities may also offer optional riders or contractual benefits related to qualifying long-term-care needs. These features vary and may have additional costs, eligibility requirements, restrictions, or limitations. Annuities are not substitutes for comprehensive long-term care insurance in every situation.
We encourage clients to consider their overall financial circumstances and consult appropriate tax or legal professionals when necessary.
